ChemSheetExcel Add-in

ChemSheet

ChemSheet

ChemSheet is an Excel add-in that lets you run thermodynamic equilibrium calculations directly within Excel. By combining it with Excel's built-in formulas, you can model physical processes such as heat conduction alongside the thermodynamic calculations.

Key Features

  • The person who builds the model and the person who runs the analysis can be different people. Model builders can focus on constructing the specialized ChemSheet model, while analysts can focus on running the calculations.
  • ChemSheet can also be run from Excel VBA.
  • It can predict the viscosity and surface tension of molten slag. FactSage can also predict viscosity, but since it uses a different model, the applicable systems and results differ. FactSage cannot predict surface tension.

Simulation Model Using ChemSheet

An example analysis of a metallic silicon production furnace using ChemSheet: SiO₂ (quartz) and C(s) are fed in from the top of the furnace, and liquid Si is extracted from the bottom. The analysis includes thermodynamic equilibrium calculations, and input quantities and results are set up and reviewed directly in Excel.
